I think Walter's parents in the 1910 US Census Kearny, Hudson, NJ, page 16A, ED: 242, Roll 887, Book 2, page 278, done 28 April 1910, are Nils Backlund and Emma C. They were married in Sweden, Stockholm, and had four children, three of whom died. They came to US about 1888.
He was born on Aug 26, 1856 in Ostra Amtervik, Varmland Sweden, and he moved to Stockholm in 1871. He was first of his line to come to America. I think I have their picture from about 1888. Others of his family came and stayed in the Montclair or Kearny area. I can't find them in the 1920-30 census. One brother of Nils was a Swedish Baptist Minister Lewis M Backlund who had three children and probably died Jan 1, 1950 Springfield, MO. Any input appreciated.
