Try to contact Earl Boytchuk. He is an auditor with Revenue Canada in the Toronto Ontario area. Boytchuck's mother was either Elsie or Emily Negrych. Her father was a Negrych and her mother was a Halikowski(a), (first name was Paulina/Pawlina, I think). They settled/farmed around Veregin Sask and had lots of kids. One of their many children, Walter Negrych, died in Veregin, Sask. in 2006 having reached 81 years of age. He was a very young airman in WWII. Check the Canadian Legion's Last Post Site. You will see the record of Walter Negrych's death there. I think he lived with his mother (Halikowska) on the family farm in Veregin to the end of her years at least, and probably longer. Her husband (Negrych), the father of the family died 30 or so years ago(?).

Another of their children, Charles Negrych, died in Toronto in 1950. I think he predeceased his own father and certainly his mother. Another daughter, Stefania, also lived out her last years in the Metropolitan Toronto Area.

Not all of the Negrych/Halikowski(a) children stayed close. For some of them that I knew, their early life was very hard and had consequences throughout adulthood.

Good Luck! Contact Earl Boytchuck if you can. I don't know how to.
