Subject: Many Try -- But This is Often What Happens!!!

To all:-

Shopping plazas will very often refuse to allow booths or
tables for signing petitions, but this is one of the "hope we
never hear it" stories -- so far, no petitions from the
large exposition!! [or NEHGS]
Any reason -- to George (another one).

==========
Here are the petitions I have been able to get signed. There
are not as many signatures as I had hoped for, but it is the
best I can do. My biggest disappointment was at what is known
as the Eastern States Exposition, held in western Massachusetts
about the middle of September. ...
I volunteered to help for one day at the booth of the New England
Historic Genealogical Society, of which I am a member, and I took
along a bunch of forms. But when I got them out, I was informed
that the management of the exposition would not permit such
activity. Too bad -- a substantial fraction of the visitors passed by
our booth, and I suspect that a fair number would have signed.

Should anyone learn of seminars, expositions or whatever, send me
the address -- I have contacted many -- possibly the exposition
committee did not understand the significance.

Thanks for trying, George
