Yes, you are mostly correct about the comparison between ancesrty.com and the LDS films from the Archives of Ontario but it can happen that some of the records have been missed by ancestry.com

Also, although not to be considered in this case, there are death records available to the public for dates later than 1934. These are Registrations of Ontario Overseas Deaths 1939-1947 - RG 80-21, Appendix A11. http://www.archives.gov.on.ca/english/interloan/v-appa11-t.htm These records cover those who died in WWII
