Lois LACLAIR
Looking to confirm/add to info on the following line:
Charles LECLAIRE (b. ~1810 d. ~1885, VT) a journalier (day-worker) residing
in Coventry, VT; married on 13 Mar 1843 Cantons de l'Est Marie-Rose CLEMENT
(b. 1811 d. 1906, VT) also of Coventry, VT
Charles parents Jean LECLAIR & Marie PARENT
Marie-Rose parents Charles CLEMENT & Marie-Rose LEMIEUX
Witnesses were: Jean-Baptiste FONTAINE brother-in-law (didn't say whether of
groom or bride); Francois COURTCHAINE friend of the bride; Francois-Xavier
SAVOIE; & Israel LAFFOND. The priest was Joseph BARETTE who was a missionary
ordained in 1842. The record does not indicate exactly where the marriage
took place. It could have actually occurred in VT.

Louis parents were Jean Baptiste CHATEAUNEUF and Theotiste COTE
Matilde parents were Charles LECLERE and Josephte CLEMENT

(Not sure she is theirs as mother's first name is different, but she fits in
perfectly age wise and she married into the same family as 3 of the other
children.)

1914 Barton, VT Buried St. Paul's in Barton; m.1 Nov 12, 1855 at Sacre Coeur
Stanstead, Qc, Canada Rosalie CHATEAUNEUF b.? d. 1878 at only 38 years old
buried in Albany, VT
Rosalie parents were Jean Baptiste CHATEAUNEUF et Theotiste COTE
They had 10 children >1856-1876<

Charles m.2 after VT census was taken in Barton 1880, Julia DUROCHER. Julia
d. 1930 and is buried next to Charles in St. Paul's cemetery. (Charles &
Julia are my paternal G-grandparents)

5. Dana Frederick LACLAIR Born 1837 Died 1912 Buried Sheffield, VT m. Mary R.
JOYAL, Mary DUFF, and possibly Becky RICE.

This entry indicated that the parents were from Coventry, VT.
8. Isaac Fletcher LECLAIR born 16 Mar 1844, baptized 26 May 1844. died 1919,
buried Barton, VT; m. Elise FRAPPIER Feb 27, 1865 at St. Thomas, Compton
Elise parents were Noel FRAPPIER and Marie Rose DURAND

9. Francois LECLERC aka Frank LACLAIR (per his grave stone) born 11 April
1846, baptized 12 July 1846. Buried in Stanstead he died in 1878 at only
32yrs; Godparents Francois CHAINE & Domithilde LECLERC. (don't know who
Domithilde is, but must be a family member) Entry indicates the parents were
from Barton. Frank m. Sophia CHATEAUNEUF Dec 10, 1864 Derby, VT possibly
reaffirmed 1866 Sacre Coeur, Stanstead (I have 2 dates and haven't yet
figured out how that happened -- maybe they had a civil service in VT in 1864
then had the priest redo it in 1866.)
Sophia parents were Jean Baptiste CHATEAUNEUF and Theotiste COTE

10. Louis LECLAIRE aka Lewis LACLAIR (per his grave stone) born 2 May
baptized 18 July 1848 at Sacre Coeur, Stanstead, Qc. m. Mary R. JOYAL 1868.
Died 1871 only 23yrs, VT buried Stanstead.
11. Zoe LECLERC aka Zoya LACLARE (per her grave stone) born 19 May baptized
29 Sept 1850 at Sacre Coeur, Stanstead. Godparents Charles LECLERE & Zoe
DERALEAU. (these are obviously family members, but where do they fit in?) m.
John Robinson and Freeman DEGREENIA-born Aug 1884 Warden, PQ, Canada died Dec
1916 Barton, VT. Zoya d . 1917 Buried Barton, VT

*****Frank and Louis share a grave stone that says "sons of Charles sr., Mary
R Laclair, on the bottom of the stone in small letters it says A. J. Smith
Barton Vt., stone maker."
