I am trying to trace my grandfather Harold's twin brother Percy Healey, they were born 01 November 1895 in Hunslet, Yorkshire. On the 1901 census, they lived at 12 Pollard Square with their mother and father, Caroline and Richard, older brother Arthur and younger brother Harry and sister Dorethea.

Percy immigrated to Canada sometime before the 1950's, I don't know where. I do know that he entered the United States twice in 1923 and 1924 as a member of the crew of a merchant ship through Ellis Island. Percy did have a son in the Royal Canadian Navy in the 1950's, name unknown.

I have tried looking through records, but it seems (unless anyone can tell me differently), that you need to know the ship's name and date, before you can find who you are looking for - I have even been to Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia a few years ago, and came up with the same brick wall.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Carol (nee Healey)
