WHITE, Gordon 430 Massachusetts Drive (Apartment #304),
Stephenville It is with great sadness that the family
of the late Gordon White announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick
Hospital in Stephenville on Friday, July 19, 2002 at the age of 64
years. He will be sadly missed by his two sons, Perry (Carolyn) White
of Kippens, Clark (Josephine), White of Stephenville and three
daughters: Sherry (Joel) Allport of Etobicoke, Ontario, Paula (Pernell)
Swyers of Stephenville, Tanya White of Etobicoke, Ontario and three
brothers: Elias (Irene) White of Stephenville, Wilson (Alvina) White
and Eric (Christine) Rideout, all of Corner Brook and one sister: Joan
Rideout of Ontario and eight grandchildren and a large circle of
relatives and friends. Visitation took place on Saturday evening and
Sunday. Funeral services will take place on Monday, July 22nd at the
Salvation Army Church, Hansen Highway, Stephenville with Interment in
the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. Funeral
arrangements are under the supervision of Russell's Funeral Home, 39
Queen Street, Stephenville.

MURPHY, Mary (Min) Hoskins 2 Quinton Street,
Corner Brook, NF Passed peacefully away on Saturday,
July 20th, 2002 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Mary Murphy
in her 91st year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories
four sons and three daughters: Joan Mitchell (Dennis), Delta, BC, Emily
Marshy, Ottawa, ON, Fred Hoskins (Anita), North Bay, ON, Mary Chippett
(Ralph), Corner Brook, Leo Hoskins, Charlottetown, PEI, Norbert Hoskins,
with whom she resided, Brian Hoskins (Maxine), Corner Brook; 12
grandchildren: Mark, Pamela, Tom, David, Darryl, Mona, Lisa, Leila,
Nadia, Mona, Robert and Jimmy; seven great-grandchildren: Katie,
Justin, Ben, Luke, Sarnia, Turen and Adrienne; sister Gertrude Wilcott
(Gordon), Botwood; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was
predeceased by her husbands Thomas Hoskins in 1973 and Steve Murphy in
1986; brothers: Reg, Leo and George Willcott; sister Genevieve Crant.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 24th at 10:30 a.m.
from All Hallows Roman Catholic Church, Humber Road, Father Grace
officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery.
Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue Monday
and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. As expressions of sympathy flowers are
graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Western

CARTER, Sarah L. Corner Brook, NF Passed
peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2002 at the Interfaith Home, Sarah Lavina
Carter at the age of 90. She will be remembered with fond and loving
memories by her son Reginald Carter (Sharon), Corner Brook; daughters:
Violet Gregory (Winston), Orrilla, ON, Elizabeth Reeve (Richard),
Washington, Margaret Brenner (John), Whiting, Iowa, Audrey Carberry
(Ross), Corner Brook, Sandra Taylor, Halifax, NS; 19 grandchildren, 20
great-grandchildren; brother Edgar Parsons, sister Marie Blackwood
(Jim), sister-in-law Kathleen Parsons and numerous nieces, nephews and
friends. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Carter, January
16, 1998, brother Captain Herbert Parsons, sister-in-law Nita Parsons.
The family will be receiving friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St.
Mark's Avenue, Monday from 7-9 p.m. followed by a private family service
on Tuesday, July 23rd. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers
memorial donations to the Children's Wish Foundation will be graciously

HOPE, Geoffrey Derek July 23, 1953 - July 19, 2002
Geoff was much loved and his generosity of spirit and
determination was touched by all who knew him. His greatest joy was the
time spent camping and playing with his grandsons Derek and Ethan. He
had an unselfish nature and treated friends and strangers alike. Geoff
was an avid outdoors enthusiast, a passion he inherited from his father,
and his favorite "toy" was his quad, on which he spent many enjoyable
hours with family and friends at Wilderness Village in Rocky Mountain
House. He enjoyed a fulfilling career with the Calgary Police Services,
most recently as a Traffic Reconstruction Analyst. Geoff is survived by
his adoring wife and soulmate Debra (nee Johnson), daughter Christina
Webe (Nathan), grandsons Derek and Ethan, mother Muriel, brother Stephen
(Anju), sisters Susan Berdahl (Dennis), Linda Sauer (BJ), mother and
father-in-law Joan and Robert Johnson, brothers-in-law Todd (Kim) and
Paul (Gerri) Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is
predeceased by his father Derek, sister Rachel and niece Melinda.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday, July 24,
2002 from 12:00 - 12:45 p.m. with funeral services being held at 1:00
p.m. at the Living Springs Christian Fellowship Church one mile west of
Highway 2 on Big Hill Springs Road in Airdrie, Alberta, officiated by
Dave Ingram. Arrangements handled by McInnis & Holloway in Airdrie, at
948-1100. Donations may be made to Living Springs Christian Fellowship

MCINTYRE, Allie Allie McIntyre age 76 died Saturday,
July 20th, 2002. He resided at 135 Seaview Street, Glace Bay. He was
born in Glace Bay and was the son of the late Peter and Jesse (McNeil)
McIntyre. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish. He and his wife
Shirley lived in Corner Brook, Newfoundland for a period of 35 years.
During this working life he was employed as a top-notch salesman and
was well respected by all who received him. After his retirement they
returned to Glace Bay. Allie was a noted saxophone player and applied
his musical talents both locally and abroad for over 60 years. He is
survived by his wife the former Shirley Holloway, two daughters: Debbie
O'Brien (Dave), Linda Giles, both of Corner Brook. Four sons: Peter
(Catherine), Ernie (Maggie), both in Corner Brook, Allie (Annie)
Peterborough, Ontario and Danny, Brampton, Ontario, two brothers:
Danny, Glace Bay and John in Sarnia, ON, one sister Dorothy, Sarnia,
Ontario. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by five
sisters: Mary, Annie, Rose, Sadie and Margaret and one brother Joe.
Allie will have this visitation Monday 2-4 and 7-9 in Curry's Funeral
Home, 775 Main Street, Glace Bay. Mass of Resurrection will be
celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in Holy Cross Church with Rev. John
Graham officiating. Cremation will follow and the ashes will be
forwarded to Corner Brook, NF for interment. Donations in Allie's
memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes
