DEATHS


PITTMAN, Obediah W. Sops Arm July 28th, 1950 -
August 17th, 2002 It is with great sadness that the
family of the late Obediah W. Pittman announce his passing on Saturday,
August 17th, 2002 at his family residence in his 52nd year. He will be
sadly missed by his loving wife Edna (nee Taylor), four daughters:
Nancy Pittman (Carl Twyne) of Pollard's Point, Bobbie-Ann Pittman
(Brian Porter) of Georgetown, Ontario, Jenny Pittman (Michael Foster) of
Greenwood, Nova Scotia and Holly Pittman and fiancée Brian Robar of
Ottawa, Ontario, one son Kevin Pittman of Sops Arm, three grandchildren:
Cody and Alexis Twyne and Cassidy Foster. His mother Leona Pittman of
Sops Arm. Three sisters: Gloria (Mrs. Bill Dicks), Karen (Mrs. Eugene
Parsons) both of Sops Arm and Piney (Mrs. Dennis Bishop) of North
Sydney, Nova Scotia. Seven brothers: Lloyd (Bella) of Sops Arm, Wesley
(Naomi) of Pasadena, Guy (Hughena) of Sops Arm, Roy (Edith) of Birchy
Head, Bonne Bay, Clifford (Joan) of Springdale, Elis (Floria) of Port De
Grave and Todd of Sops Arm. Also a large circle of nieces and nephews,
relatives and friends. Visitation will take place from the Pentecostal
Church in Sops Arm today Tuesday, where also funeral services will take
place on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Snow officiating. Interment
to follow at the family plot. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to
Parsons Funeral Home, 63 Northmain Street, Deer Lake.

ABBOTT, John B. (Jack) Stephenville, NF It
is with great sadness that the family of the late Jack Abbott announce
his peaceful passing on Sunday, August 18th, 2002 at the Sir Thomas
Roddick Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He
will be sadly missed and remembered by his loving wife Sandra; sisters:
Marjorie O'Neil, Mary Chestnut and Maureen (David) Moore; a special
nephew Michael O'Neil, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may
visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 25 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on
Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral
Service will take place from Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in
Port au Port West on Wednesday, August 21st at 10:00 a.m. with Father
Patry officiating, followed by interment in the church cemetery. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sir Thomas Roddick
Hospital Foundation. You may sign the guest book, make a charitable
