DEATHS


FOOTE, Lydia J. Burgeo, NF Passed
peacefully away on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at the Calder Health Care
Centre, Burgeo at the age of 65. She will be sadly missed and lovingly
remembered by her mother Hannah Hatcher; four children: Sharon Short
(Jim), Burgeo, Barry Foote (Bonnie), Corner Brook, Dolores Green
(Stewart), Burgeo and Janet Dominey (Glenn), Burgeo; eighteen
grandchildren: Danielle, Nolan, Dustin, Brendan, Andy, Gavin, Tyson and
Rochelle and numerous other relatives and friends. She was predeceased
by her husband Albert Foote and her father Allan Hatcher. The family
will be receiving friends at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church,
Burgeo, on Friday followed by the funeral service, Saturday, August 24th
at 2:00 p.m. Reverend George Childs officiating. The interment will be
held at the Burgeo Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy,
flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the
Cancer Centre, Western Region, P. O. Box 2005, Corner Brook, NF, A2H
6J7. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral

WILLIAMS, Pearl (nee Rolfe) 74 years
Passed away on August 22, 2002 at Windsor Western Hospital. Predeceased
by her husband John. Beloved mother of Lynn Cunning (Harold), Brenda
Bartlett (Robert), Debby Williams and Bill Williams. Most cherished by
her daughter Jill Williams (Al) and her beloved Jacquelyn. Dear
grandmother of Amy, Leah, Lesley, Heather and Jennifer. Great
grandmother of Michael and Jesse. Survived by her brother Bill Rolfe
(Marie), brother-in-law Herb Williams (Marg), brother-in-law Gordon
Butler (Mary), niece Dianne Devin and husband Dan and children Richard
and Joanne and other nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her friends
at Parkview Towers and the staff of T3 West. At Pearl's request, her
body has been donated to the University of Western Ontario. Visiting in
the Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, Windsor, Ontario
(519)252-5711 on Saturday, August 24, 2002 from 1:00 p.m. until time of
a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Archdeacon Robert Bennett officiating.

LAVALLEE, Edmund J. 34 Beach Street, Stephenville
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edmund J.
LaVallée announce his passing at the Health Science Centre in St. John's
on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at the age of 71 years. He will be sadly
missed by his loving wife, Marie and four sons: Terry (Queenie)
LaVallée of Labrador City, Calvin (Shirley) LaVallée of Edmonton, Ken
LaVallée (Nancy) of Edmonton, Chris (Elizabeth) LaVallée of Stephenville
and five daughters: Hilda (Bob) McFatridge of Stephenville, Sheila
(Wayne) Slaney of Port au Port, Joan (Brian) White of Kippens, Judy
(David) Dunphy of Stephenville, Bernice (Mike) Duffy of Edmonton and two
brothers: Lawrence (Joan) Ryan of England, Joseph (Carm) LaVallée of
Port Saunders and three sisters: Lizata (Bill) Gillam of Nova Scotia,
Dorothy (Robert) Blackburn of Iowa, Simone (Robert) Connolly of
Michigan; eighteen grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and
friends. Friends may call at Russell's Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street,
Stephenville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will take
place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24th from St. Stephen's Parish,
West Street in Stephenville with interment in the Hillside Interfaith
Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy,
flowers accepted or donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would
be greatly appreciated.
