Obituaries (05/11/03)
BOON Warren Frank, (August 3, 1942 May 5, 2003). It is with great sadness we
announce Warrens passing. He was born on August 3, 1942 at Resthaven
Hospital to Allen and Isabel Boon. He leaves to mourn his mother, Isabel,
older brothers David and Donald; younger sisters Edith and Janet. Through
the years Warren flew gliders, built homes, tinkered with antique cars and
marine engines. On his much loved sailboat, 'Sundowner' made two trips to
the South Pacific, the first to French Polynesia lasted two years, the
second to Australia was 5 years. Married in 1963 Warren is survived by his
wife Carolyn June (White) and their son Gordon. Also his tiny constant
companion 'Diefy' a tabby tom cat. More than a husband and father, he was
our best friend, confidant, with easy wit and great gentleness 'One of the
Good Guys' always a smile. He valued honesty integrity dignity humor
friendship and love. When you see a beautiful morning, Warren's favourite
time, please think ofhim. In fun he was referred to as 'The Old Guy' this
would bring a smile to his face and a twinkle to his eyes. No service to be
held by Warren's request. Burial at Ross Bay cemetery. Donations in Warrens
memory may be made to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital, or to the charity of
one's choice.
