DEATHS
SHEPPARD / NEUMANN, Doris Grace Brampton, Ontario
(Formerly of Stephenville, NL) June 15, 1919 - September 1,
2003 Grace was vacationing with family at Fort McMurray,
Alberta when she slipped her earthly bonds and went to her eternal
rest. She was predeceased by her first husband, Dorman Sheppard (1973),
their daughter, Joan (1990), her second husband, Paul Neumann (2002) as
well as three sisters: Ann, Dora and Bertha. Lovingly remembered by
two sons and their wives, Leroy (Beulah) and George (Della) and two
brothers: Raymond and Andrew Holmes. "Nan" was loved and adored by her
ten grandchildren: Vicky, Rick, Stephen, Jennifer, Raymond, Jason,
Colleen, Karen, Trevor and Jeff. "Nanny Grace": was special to twenty
great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She will be missed
by seven wonderful step-children: Elmer, Addie, Norma, Don, Ruth,
Carol, Diane, their spouses and families, as well as a large circle of
family and friends. Although her loss fills us with sorrow, our hearts
are filled with love and fond memories as we celebrate her life on
Saturday, September 6, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Zion Pentecostal Church,
Carolina Avenue, Stephenville. Pastors Shawn and Mary Bowers
officiating. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to
the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to
Russell's Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street, Stephenville.
GRIFFIN, Mary Joan Corner Brook, NL It is with
great sadness that the family of the late Mary Joan Griffin announce her
passing at the Palliative Care Unit on Thursday, September 4, 2003 in
her 84th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories,
daughter Josephine and two sisters: Jackie and Elizabeth. She was
predeceased by her parents, John and Josephine Griffin; stepfather, John
Brake; two stepbrothers, Raymond and Daniel; sisters: Pauline, Dorothy,
Florence and Connie. Funeral services will be held today at 10:30 a.m.
from the Most Holy Redeemer Cathedral with Father Camacho officiating.
Interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to
Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, ph. 634-2500.
MOWBRAY, Dr. P.J. Memorial Service A Memorial
service will be held for the late Dr. Mowbray on Sunday 7th Sept. at 7
p.m. at First United Church, Park St., Corner Brook.
ENGAGEMENT
GALLANT & KING Sheila & Dan Gallant of Stephenville are
pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lisa, to Dion
King, son of Marjorie and Cyril King, also of Stephenville. The
engagement took place August 11, 2003. Congratulations and best wishes
from Mom, Dad, and her sister Danielle.
WEDDING
DOUCETTE & CARON A beautiful wedding took place in
Kelowna, BC on May 16/03, of Brenda Marie, daughter of Irene and the
late Bernard Doucette of Corner Brook, to Robert Daniel, son of Mrs.
Frances Caron and the late Doctor Richard Caron of Montreal, Quebec.
Both mothers attended their children's wedding. Robert and Brenda spent
their honeymoon in Mexico. Robert & Brenda reside in Kelowna, BC.
BIRTH
BRAKE Mr. and Mrs. Johnathan Brake are pleased to
announce the birth of their son, Tyler Jason Johnathan Francis, born on
May 29, 2003 weighing 10 lb. 10 oz. Proud Godparents are Jason
Blackwood (uncle), Jocelyn Marshall (cousin), and John Griffin (friend).
CHURCHILL Steve and Doreen Churchill are pleased to
announce the birth of their daughter Samantha Dorenka, on July 27th,
2003, weighing 6 lb. 7 oz. at the Kingston General Hospital, Kingston,
Ontario. Proud grandparents are Matt and Lorraine Churchill and Stan
and Bernice Pieda.
HARRISON On August 10th, 2003 five generations were
present when Fr. Johnathan Rowe christened Katherine Anne (Katie)
Harrison, daughter of Mark & Cynthia Harrison of Fort McMurray, AB at
the Church of St. Simon & St. Jude in Trout River. Godparents were
Mark, Cynthia, Sarah Aubert & Uncle Justin. Katie's mom is the former
Cynthia Hann. Grandfather Varrick C. Hann, great-grandfather Varrick A.
Hann, and great-great-great-aunt 93 year old Delilah Duval. (A photo of
the five generations accompanied this announcement)
