Belmas, Joseph
BELMAS _ Joseph Anthony November 23,1918 - December 8, 2005 Our dad, also
known as "Go-go catch-um", "Poozie" and the "King" of cribbage passed away
peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2005. at 8:35 p.m. He risked his life
every day he went to work; restoring electricity to homes, hospitals and
businesses in Vancouver whenever a transformer blew ,or fatigue or storm
caused service to fail. A LINEMAN for B.C. Hydro he was. Cut from the same
cloth as his brothers Fredrick and Mitch - the Belmas brothers served their
communities, local and nationally to make life better and safer for your
families and theirs. JOSEPH is loved and missed by his brother Fredrick and
sister Alix. His children, Susan, Peter, Mary-Lee, Dennis, Mary-Pat and his
"Favorite Kiddo", Juliet unabashedly call him the GREATEST DAD ON EARTH.
Grand kids Leanne, Angie, Caroline, Andrea, Carley and Ashley will miss
"winning" endless games of cribbage and frequent visits to McDonalds. Jay,
Todd, Alaina, Jeffery and Spencer will miss grandpa too. Dad's serious crib
contenders Dennis, Joe and Vern say he went out wearing the "Crown". We will
all miss the way he made us feel so special. Come, say good-bye, or learn
more about our dad at his funeral service at St. Helen's Catholic Church,
387l Pandora St. Burnaby, l0:00 a.m., Monday December l9, 2005. Viewing - at
First Memorial's Boal Chapel 2:00-4:00 Sunday December l8. Dad now joins our
mom, Alice, his brother Mitch, sister Annie, parents Kathelene and
Alexander. And above all others he finally is joined with the GREATEST DAD

Miller, Terri Lynn (Memoriam)
In loving memory of Terri Lynn Miller God looked around His garden And found
an empty place. He then looked upon the earth And saw your tired face. He
put His arm around you And lifted you to rest. God's garden must be
beautiful He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering. He knew
you were in pain. He knew that you would never Get well on earth again. He
saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb. So He
closed your eyelids, And whispered, "Peace be thine." It broke our hearts to
lose you, But you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you The day God
called you Home. Love Mom and Charlyn

Mortifee, Margaret Anderson
MORTIFEE _ Margaret Anderson (1921 - 2005) Angel 'Incognito'; Undercover
Bodhisattva; Une Grande Dame... "Marga", born in Bloomfontein, South Africa
on January 19th, 1921, made her transition to the other side surrounded by
her five children and loved ones at 6:10 p.m. on Monday, December 12th, 2005
after a thankfully brief illness with cancer. Born of Scottish parents,
Marga was raised in the Orange Free State in South Africa. A volunteer
Corporal in the South African Army during World War II, this Canteen Cutie
served primarily in Egypt, driving 5-ton lorries and contributing to a
variety of other duties. At war's end, she met and married Bill (Monty)
Mortifee (deceased October 1st, 1998) in Pretoria, South Africa. As the wife
of a Member of Parliament, she lived half time on a sugar cane farm in
Zululand and half time in Cape Town. There she had four daughters (Margaret,
Ann, Mary and Jane). In 1956 the family immigrated to Vancouver where she
then had a son (Peter). She volunteered for a number of organizations. She
had a keen interest in modern history and current events. She loved to read,
particularly biographies. She was a supporter of the arts and innumerable
humanitarian charities. In her later years she was thrilled to finally take
up the art of painting. Marga was a woman of extraordinary kindness,
compassion and generosity. Her greatest devotion was to diminishing the
suffering of others. Nothing gave her greater satisfaction and joy than
knowing that those she cared about were well. Her primary passion was her
family and her dearest loved ones. She had true empathy with an unusual
capacity to listen and an authentic interest in people's lives. Her
outrageous and irreverent sense of humour endeared her to all who met her.

the loss of such a beacon of light and yet profound gratitude for all the
blessings she bestowed on so many of us, that the family invite those of you
whose lives were touched by her to come and join in a celebration of her
life on Sunday, December 18th, 2005 from 12 to 3 pm at the Royal Vancouver
