peacefully, December 26th, 2005 at Royal City Manor, New Westminster, BC.
Predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Mabel Catherine; brothers,
Alonzo, Solomon and George; sisters, Mary and Sarah. Uncle Henry will be
lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. A special thank

BEGG _ Cecilie Dorelise Read, (nee Cairns), born in Edinburgh, Scotland on
August 21st, 1935, passed away at home after a short illness on December
19th, 2005. Loved and honoured by her husband Dr. Iain Begg; children,
Roderick (Linda), Iona Cartwright and Sula (Tim) Coulson; grandchildren,
Skyler, Cain, Chloe, and by Elizabeth. Dearly remembered by members of the

BUSHELL _ Evelyn Olga of Davis Bay, formerly of Ocean Falls passed away
December 23rd, 2005 in her 96th year at the West Vancouver Care Centre.
Evelyn was born in Bella Coola to pioneer Norwegian settlers Olaf and Emma
Gorden. Predeceased by her husband Jack, sister Lillian and brother Julian.
Sadly missed by her son Ron; daughter Doris (Howard); 6 grandchildren:
Gorden (Karen), John, Leanne (Rolland), Brent (Denise), Lorne, Sandra
(Douglas); 10 great-grandchildren: Peter, Daniel (Carly), Tyson, Shaun,
Jaclyn, Mark, Liam, Monika, Alexandra, Jamieson and
great-great-granddaughter Emma; also many nephews and nieces. Evelyn was a
loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A Celebration of Evelyn's Life

Peggy was predeceased by her husband Don. She is survived by her son Derek
(Frankie) Cameron; her two granddaughters, Joelle (Shawn) Jamieson and
Christine (Steve) Darvell; her two great-grandsons, Cullen and Reid
Jamieson; and her sister, Jean Clapperton of Edinburgh, Scotland. A Memorial
Service will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006, 2:30 p.m., at
Hamilton-Harron Funeral Centre and Crematorium, 5390 Fraser Street,

CEWE _ Mabel Eleanor "Ginger" Mabel "Ginger" passed away quietly on December
22, 2005 at Eagle Ridge Hospital after living a very full and long life for
91 years. She is lovingly missed by her husband Jack of 63 years; daughter
Judith (Carsten); granddaughter Kirsten (Ryan) and three great-grandchildren
Grady, Sydney and Cooper and brother Peter. Ginger was predeceased by her
grandson Christopher in 1998. Ginger will always be remembered as loving to
have fun with her family and friends and was always there to give a helping
hand. She was born in Ladner, BC, and lived all her life in the New
Westminster area except during the war when she and Jack were stationed with
the Air Force throughout Canada. Special thanks to the gals at Bayshore and
the team at Eagle Ridge Hospital for the great care given to Ginger. She
will be specially missed by her family and all the people she came in touch

Givens, Christopher Paul

GIVENS _ Christopher Paul November 6, 1952 - December 26, 2005 Christopher
Paul Givens, 53, of Portland, Oregon died December 26, 2005 at Providence
St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center due to an inoperable aortic
aneurysm. Chris was born on November 6, 1952 in Riverdale, North Dakota, the
son of Hugh and Sally (Milne) Givens. He was raised and graduated high
school in Palm Springs, California. He graduated Cal State Fullerton in
1979, receiving his Bachelor degree in Music, with minors in Physical
Education & Child Psychology, later receiving his Lifetime teaching
certificate from University of Austin in Texas. He started coaching in 1972
and coached for many nationally ranked teams in the US and Canada. Chris has
a proven record of inspiring swimmers for elite competitions at the national
and international level and has placed three swimmers on Olympic Teams. Most
recently coaching for the Tualatin Hills Thunderbolts, currently ranked top
16 in the nation. In addition to his coaching prowess Chris was a trained
Professional Tenor, singing in many international choirs and as a feature
soloist in both the US and Canada, including CDs by Vancouver Chamber Choir
and Vancouver Cantata Singers which were both nominated for Juno awards. His
first musical love was brass. He played French Horn with the LA Philharmonic
for several years. Chris is survived by: Wife Celeste Givens, Daughters:
Kyana Givens, Belle Givens, and Danielle Sutton, Son Mike Kennedy, Brothers
Randy Givens, and Tim Givens, 5 Grandchildren. Memorial Contributions can be

HIVES _ David Charles Robert It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of Dave Hives on December 23, 2005. Dave was predeceased by his
father Rev. Art Hives December 14, 2005, mother Sheila Hives February 1987,
Jean and Ron Purvis and Grandparents Charles and Jean Hives. Survived by
brothers Matt and Rick Hives, and sisters Patricia and Kate Hives. Born in
Trail, B.C. Dave was a brother, son and loyal friend. He was an explorer,
philosopher, sailor and artist. Dave was a marina manager, carpenter, chef,
computer technician and musician extraordinaire. Dave had a unique way of
viewing and experiencing life and lived life to the fullest. Dave believed
in integrity, honesty and honor and was a compassionate man. With gratitude
to Dr. Alexandros Alexiadis, Dr. Johnston, the nurses of Home Health
Services Fraser South, Delta Hospice Society, Surrey Hospice and in
particular, Pat Lobsinger and Reverend Jim Cruickshank. Memorial service to
be held at St. Mary's Kerrisdale at 2:00 pm on January 14th, 2006. In lieu

Hungerford, Roderick MacLaren (Rod)
HUNGERFORD _ Roderick (Rod) MacLaren Rod Hungerford died peacefully at the
age of 91 at his home in Vancouver, BC on Saturday, December 24, 2005. He
was born in London, Ontario on September 12, 1914, and was predeceased by
his parents Maude and Walter, his brothers Becher, Jack, Donnington, and
George, and his sisters Farleigh and Helena. He sadly leaves behind his wife
of over 62 years, MARY (nee Farrell), and his children and grandchildren _
GEORGE (Jane), Geordie, Michael, Andrew and Janie; ROBERT (Dagmar), Tara,
Jessica, Jonathan (deceased) and Richard; MARY (Hugh Matthews), Jamie,
Danny, Elizabeth and Will; JOHN (Debbie), Caitlin, Briana, and Matthew;
CATHERINE (Joe Marino), Rebecca and Steven; and his dog Charlie. A prominent
local business and community leader for over 60 years, he had many business
colleagues and friends around the world. He was always inquisitive and
supportive, contributing to his family and all those associated with him. He
was a listener, thinker and doer throughout his life; living each day to the
fullest. "Grandie" followed with enthusiasm and pride all of his children's
and grandchildren's achievements. Family and friends will always fondly
remember "The Farm", his love for the countryside and the wonderful life he
shared with "Mamie". A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 9th,

FEHER _ Lajos, born May 30, 1950 in Backa Topola, Yugoslavia, passed away in
a tragic work related accident on December 16, 2005. He was only 55. His
death leaves behind sadness and emptiness for his loving wife of 27 years,
Magdolna, and their two children, Melinda and Csilla. Lajos is also survived
by his mother, Terez and sister Rozsa. Numerous cousins, friends and family

Leach, Ruby (Lupton)
LEACH _ Ruby (nee Lupton) passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord
at Evergreen Baptist Home, White Rock on December 18, 2005 at the age of 96.
Born in Nelson, B.C. November 30, 1909, she was predeceased by both her
husband Tom and brother Gordon Lupton. Ruby will be deeply missed by her son
Lorne and daughter Marion Dallamore (Al); her grandchildren, Karen, Audrey,
Doug, Caroline, Keith, Kelly and Jay; 18 great-grandchildren as well as her
nieces and nephews. Ruby's family was dear to her heart, and could recite
from memory the names and birthdates of all members of her family. She was
beloved and admired as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ruby
was active in a number of community and church affairs. She was a lifetime
member of the Anglican Church Women (ACW), as well as the Peace Arch
Hospital Auxiliary. Ruby was a co-founder of W.R. Meals on Wheels and she
provided assistance to the W.R. Mental Health Society. Ruby was an energized
lady to her last days. Her joy of swimming at White Rock West Beach with
friends, and walks around the lakes continued to her 96th birthday. Our
sincere thanks to Dr. Larry Darby, the Peace Arch Hospital, and the
management and staff of Evergreen Baptist Home for their care and kindness
in making Ruby's final days as comfortable as possible. A service to
celebrate her good life will be held at St. Marks Anglican Church, 12953 20
Ave., Surrey, on January 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations

MacKENZIE _ Roderick Chisholm, born June 12, 1915 in Bellevue, AB, passed

MARSH _ It is with regret that the sons and family of Ivy (nee Simpson)
announces her sudden and unexpected passing on December 22, 2005 at the age
of 82. Ivy was born in Canora, Saskatchewan on February 12, 1923 and moved
to the Vancouver area in 1925 where she spent most of her life, She was
predeceased by her loving husband Bill (Franklin Williams), her parents Ted
(Edward) and Jane (nee Sheldrick), and her brothers Harry, Ted, Frank, Jack,
and Ernie, and sister Dorothy and Edith. She will be lovingly missed by her
three sons Robert (Carol), Richard (Ann), and Brad (Donna) and her only
surviving sister Bonnie (Andre). She is also survived by her grandchildren
Dean, Shauntel, Thomas, Sarah, and Daniel and her great-grandchild Amberly.

Preston, Robert Thomas
PRESTON _ Robert Thomas Passed away on December 26, 2005 in the Cowichan
Lodge in Duncan at the age of 77. Predeceased by his wife Ruth, he is
survived by his daughter Paula and son Robert, and 4 grandchildren. Also
survived by sister-in-law Paula Dickie. Born in Vancouver, BC, Bob graduated
from UBC with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He served for 37 years in
the Canadian military in a wide variety of positions across Canada, Korea,
and abroad - retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He took up a second career as
a civilian engineer in National Defence H.Q. for a further 7 years. Resident
of Arbutus Ridge since 1991 where he was actively involved in many
organizations and volunteer groups. He was well respected within the
community, and will be missed by his many friends. Bob will be remembered
for his amazing memory, analytic mind and amusing stories. A Remembrance
Gathering will be held in early February. In lieu of flowers, donations to

ROBERTS _ John Edmund Henry (Ted), born November 23, 1922 in Victoria, BC

Wigle, Frances "Tan"
WIGLE _ Frances (Tan) Born in Gold Rock, Ont., on August 29, 1913, Frances
McLean Foulis was raised in Dryden, Ont., where she helped her father, the
late Frank Foulis, build a wholesale business. After graduating in 1934 from
United Colleges in Winnipeg, she taught secondary school at Kapuskasing,
Ont., and in 1944 married Dryden's first native-born physician, Dr. William
Ward Wigle. Tan and Bill raised three children in Dryden: William Foulis,
John Frederick and Margaret Anne (Gee) Wigle. They all now live in British
Columbia, where their mother died after a long illness at Vancouver's
Braddan Hospital on December 27, 2005. Tan is also survived by her two
grandchildren, Dustin Kersey and Karen Kersey, of Cayman Islands, B.W.I.,
and by her daughter-in-law, Jo-Anne Mclean of Denman Island, B.C. She is
predeceased by her sisters, Adele (Del) McDougald and Leila Berrey, and by
her stepmother, Amy Parenteau. By Tan's request, there will be no Memorial

Williams, Peter Robert (Rob)
WILLIAMS _ Peter Robert (Bob). Born July 21, 1913 near Vernon, B.C., died
December 26, 2005 in Vancouver, BC, of complications following surgery. Bob
was predeceased by his parents Vera Mary (nee Venables) and Bertram Leopold
and his brothers, Claude and Bill. He is survived by his niece, Barbara
Tartaglio, and nephews Bert Williams and Bill Williams. A war veteran, Bob
worked for General Electric in Vancouver for many years, and might be
remembered as the artist and magician at the annual office Christmas party.
After GE, Bob tried his hand as a realtor for some years before fully
retiring 22 years ago and moving to Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast. Once a
scratch golfer, he spent many happy days whacking a golf ball around the
Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club in Roberts Creek. His quick wit,
endless supply of jokes and appreciation of a good steak dinner will be
missed by his family and numerous friends. Bob's acquaintances, friends and
family are invited to remember him at an informal gathering at 1:00 p.m. on
Sunday, January 1, 2005, at the Sunshine Coast Golf Club. Many thanks to all
the friends, support staff and volunteers that helped make his final years
so enjoyable for him.
