PISTELL, Arthur Wilfred Art left us peacefully on November 26, 2007, after a
very full and eventful life. Born in Victoria on September 21, 1920, he was
predeceased by his wife Marjorie in 1999, to whom his devotion remained
steadfast. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by their son
Larry, daughter Marilyn Deveson and her husband Rick, grandchildren Derick
and Julie. Art drove streetcars and buses in Victoria for 41 years, retiring
from BC Transit in 1984, and was a member of the View Royal Volunteer Fire
Department for 25 years. He will be remembered for his quiet resolve and
trustworthy manner, and his ability to fix anything that needed it. A
special note of thanks to the nursing staff and doctors on 6C North at
Victoria General Hospital. A private remembrance was held in Art's honour.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
of BC and Yukon, or to the BC Branch of the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
