BROWN, Helen L. Passed away on January 26, 2007 at Cowichan District
Hospital Duncan. Beloved mother of Dale of Dawson Creek, BC, Darrel (Karen)
of Terrace, BC and Dorothy (Gordon) Levelton of Bella Coola, BC. Also
survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, brothers Fred Haggard
of Kamloops, BC and Bob Haggard of Vernon, BC. Helen was predeceased by
husband Stuart (Stu) Brown in 1989. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday
January 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. from Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Rd.,

BRYANS, Edmund Bridges Ed was born on October 31, 1925 and passed away with
quiet dignity on January 26, 2007 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital after a
brief illness with cancer. He grew up in Bray, Ireland, with his sisters Joy
and Pat, emigrating to Canada in 1956 where he began a distinguished career
in teaching. He is well known in the rugby community as a man of honour and
integrity. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Pat (Dobbs). Ed is
survived by his wife Irene, daughters Odette (Matt) Foy, Colleen (Richard)
Chan; four grandchildren Gordon, Tiera, Melissa and Michael; sister Joy
(Bill) Georgeson; brother-in-law Bill (Nina) Dobbs, nieces, nephews and
extended families. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and
remembered respectfully by all those who knew Ed and shared in his life. We
offer our sincere gratitude for the care and compassion extended to Ed and
family by the doctors, nurses and volunteers on Royal 2 and at the Hospice.
Irene offers her deep appreciation for offers of support from Ed's rugby
colleagues and friends. A service in his honour will be held at First
Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1155 Fort Street on Friday, February 2nd at 2 pm.
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Cancer Society.

COWDERY, Marjorie Anne (Anne) Anne passed away peacefully January 23, 2007
at the age of 77 years. She is lovingly remembered by children Alan (Judy),
Bev (Rick) Merrifield, Rob (Carol); grandchildren Danielle, April, Brian,
Krista, Stuart; and greatgrandchildren Jacob, Keenan, Robin. Anne was
predeceased by her mother Mildred, sister Claire and loving husband Jack.
She loved sewing, needlework, travel, seaside and mountain walks. Mom was a
kind, thoughtful, fun-loving person who gathered many friends throughout her
life. A memorial service will be held Monday, January 29 at 2:00 pm at First
Memorial Funeral Chapel, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria, B.C. The family
wishes to thank Hospice and Home Nursing Care (Joan) for their support and

HARDER, Pamela Catherine Edith 1922 2007 Pamela was born in Francois Lake,
BC and spent her childhood and early-married life in Flin Flon, Manitoba.
She married Allan Howard Harder in 1940. He enlisted in WW II and served
with the Royal Canadian Engineers. During his officers' training in Gordon
Head he fell in love with Victoria. In 1956 they moved to the Island with
their four children. Pamela became an elementary school teacher after her
husband became ill in 1957 and she spent the next 24 years as a
teacher/librarian in Lake Cowichan, Ladysmith, Duncan, and Victoria. Pamela
has spent the last 23 years volunteering in a nonprofessional capacity, at
Lochside Elementary School where she so enjoyed the welcome she received
from the administration, staff, parents, and children. Pamela extends her
warm thank you to the many medical professionals who have cared for her
during her illness. She is predeceased by her husband, Allan and her son,
Guy. She is survived by her three daughters and their families; daughter
Pennie (Brien) Liebel, grandson Ralph, great-granddaughter Lovena,
granddaughter Caroline (Gerald), and granddaughter Alison (Thomas); daughter
Jocelyn Harder, granddaughter Wendy (Timothy), great-granddaughter, Sophia,
grandson Antony (fiance Bridey), and grandson Nicolas (fiance Anna); and
daughter Nancy (Charles) Troger, granddaughter Jacqueline (Lloyd), and
granddaughter Kathleen (Wade). No ceremony by request. In lieu of flowers,
Pamela asks that you please donate to Victoria Hospice Society, Avodah Fund,

MacINTYRE, Stephanie passed away in Victoria, BC on January 25, 2007.
Predeceased by her beloved father Dan MacIntyre. Survived by her loving
family: sons Garry (Jaime) Brooks and Neil Brooks; mother Mary "Molly"
MacIntyre; sisters Marion (Ed) Shaw, Eleanor (Allan) Brooks and Donna Brown;
and brother Dan MacIntyre along with numerous nephews and nieces. Private

RATHGABER, Jean (nee Corry) Jean passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospice
on Thursday, January 25, 2007, after a courageous battle with her illness.
She was surrounded by her three children Keith (Joanne), Lynn (Mike) and
Rod. Jean was born in Victoria on May 19, 1928, and lived her whole life
here. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Rudy and her brother Percy
(Phyllis). She will be lovingly remembered by her children; grandchildren
Kelly (Jason), Tyler (Danielle), Darren, Jordan, Cameron, Alexandra, Justin
and Ngaire; great-grandchildren Riley and Kassidy; sister Shirley (Garry)
and many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Funeral Service will be
held in the Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street, Victoria, BC on
Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 12:00 noon, with a reception to follow in the

SUNDBORG, Ralph In loving memory of a wonderful husband, father and
grandfather from New Brunswick who passed away in Victoria last January 29,
2006. Forever loved and missed from his wife of 45 years, Beverly and three
children, Randy from New Brunswick, Carole from Victoria and Leah from
Calgary and their families. He also has two sisters Irene and Vera from
Quebec and a brother Vic in Ontario. God Bless everyone and help us through

WINSTANLEY, Cecilia Mary (nee Henle) Born October 28, 1924 in Buckfastleigh,
Devon Died with grace and peace surrounded by family on Sunday, January 21,
2007. A wonderful loving mother, sweet granny, dear sister, cherished auntie
and trustworthy friend, she loved her tea, Scrabble, trips to the beach and
her gardens. She wrote poetry and acted in lead roles in plays on Hornby
Island. Celia served in the WRENs during WWII. Later in life, she graduated
from the University of Victoria and taught children at St. Andrew's and
disabled adults at George R. Pearke's and Springwood. Celia was blessed with
a deep abiding faith, and she taught us God is love. Her sage advice, humour
and especially her sausage rolls will be sorely missed. Celia had nine
children (count them) with her husband, Tony: Veronica (Roy), Andy (Olive),
Jenny (Paul), Bernie (Scott), Martin (Arlene), Paul, Mark (Janice),
Stephanie and Vince (Julie). She had sixteen grandchildren: Ana-Elisa
(Fred), Tris (Ruth), Marena, Alex, Simon (Jill), Marnie, Christian,
Genevieve, Georgia, Tyler, Adrian, Angie, Devon, Dylan, Cal and last -but
once first Adam. Predeceased by her sisters, Mary and Toni, Cis' leaves
behind brothers John and Paul and sisters Teresa, Margie and Liz and
numerous nieces and nephews. The family thanks Dr. Madill and the staff at
Central Care Home for making Celia's final days so peaceful. Memorial mass
at St. Joseph's, 785 Burnside W. (at McKenzie), on Saturday, February 3 at
11:00 am. Reception following in church hall. You are our angel now, Celia,
"rocking in the arms of Jesus". 335466
