BONE (BURT), Ada Rose Amelia A life resident of Saanich and a third
generation Victorian, passed away May 22, 2008 after a vigorous 86 year
fight with life. She was predeceased by her husband James Lothian Bone. She
is survived by her eldest son Stephen Burt and his partner Beverley, and son
James Bone and his children Katy, Patrick, and Amanda. Mother was an
accomplished pianist and soloist in convening and entertaining troops during
World War II at both James Bay and Hampton Hall. She continued as a soloist
and piano teacher for many years after that. After her parents passed away
she started anew working a rural mail route and forming the Rural Mail
Contractors Association. Following early retirement due to injuries from a
car accident, she refocused on her community and became part of Saanich's
Special Events Committee. The community of Saanich meant a lot to her and
she campaigned for and got historic status for Hampton Hall and a signal
control crossing on Tillicum Road. To the end she was planning to have a
birthday party at Hampton Hall and we would like to have that party as a
testament to her determination and courage. The party and celebration of
life will be from 2-4pm on June 9, 2008. Memories will be appreciated and
books will be provided, as well as refreshments, 274 Hampton Rd. 473147
