NOEL Eunice Grace Our mother, Eunice Grace Noel, age 93, passed away
peacefully on Monday, May 19th. Mom will be greatly missed by her
three children (David, Carole and Donna), her grandchildren (Tony,
Kevin, Tammy, Stacie, Nicole and Tessa), her great-grandchildren
(Tyra, Colin, Peighton and Kaleah) and all her other family and
friends. Mom had an incredible life full of adventure and challenge.
She was born in 1916 in Carlisle, England. When WWII started, Mom
supported the war effort by driving an ambulance and then large
transport trucks in London, England. While living in London, Mom met
her husband of 49 years, our dad, Maurice Noel. Dad was a Canadian
soldier stationed in London where he and Mom were married in 1945.
After the war, Mom became one of many "war brides" who immigrated to
Canada. She followed Dad to Notikewan, Alberta where she was warmly
welcomed by the rest of the Noel family. What a change from life in
London, England but Mom was definitely up to the challenge! When dad
re-joined the armed forces, Mom willingly followed him to many
different cities and towns across Canada. Mom and Dad eventually
retired to Kelowna where they spent their time travelling in their
motor home. After our Dad's death (1993), Mom moved to Vancouver and
lived for several years with her daughter, Donna. Mom still loved to
drive and she made many regular solo trips back and forth from
Vancouver to Calgary until she was 86 years old. Mom loved to sit in
the garden watching her youngest grandchild and little dog, Laddie,
and she greatly enjoyed playing bridge with her friends at Brock
House. Mom had a pioneer spirit and she embraced life with grace and
determination. She was an inspiration and will always be remembered.
There will be a mass for Mom on Friday, June 5th, 1:00 pm at Our Lady
of Perpetual Help in Vancouver, B.C. (10th and Crown). Special thanks
to the wonderful staff at the Royal Ascot Care Centre who looked after
Mom with much kindness and compassion.

WRIGHT Janie-Diane Janie was born on May 9, 1934 in Vancouver, B.C.
and passed away in her home at Arbutus Ridge, Vancouver Island on May
23, 2009. She is survived by her four children, Chereda Bodner (Nick
Trovato), Tracy Bodner (Chris Yearwood), Douglas Bodner (Sheila) and
Jennifer Bodner. She is further survived by her nine adored
grandchildren Alexandra, Cainan, Adam, Douglas, Keltie, Samuel,
Alyson, Justin and Simon. Janie was born in Vancouver, B.C. and
attended the Prince of Wales School in her early years before entering
the University of British Columbia where she pledged Gamma Phi Beta
and graduated with a degree in Physical Education in 1956. She moved
to Edmonton, Alberta where she lived for many years, raising her
children and working as a teacher and a realtor. In 1987 she moved
back to Vancouver and then in 1989 moved to her "little slice of
heaven", Arbutus Ridge. Mom was very passionate about travel and she
certainly lived her passion. Whether by plane, train, cruise ship,
freighter, motor scooter or automobile, she loved to keep going and
see as much of this great world as she could. Janie was a true citizen
of the world, who felt it both an obligation and a privilege to see
the world and to help out those less fortunate both at home and
abroad. She supported countless charities and was generous to a fault.
Janie was a real character and well loved by those who knew her best.
Never shy to express her opinions, she was embraced by family and
friends as a person of sterling character, real honesty and heartfelt
goodwill. Our dynamic mother will be desperately missed and lovingly
remembered. Greatest of thanks to Dr. Dawn Galbraith of the Mill Bay
Health Clinic who quarterbacked her extended health care team allowing
her to keep going to the very end. Special thanks and love to her
friends in Vancouver, on Vancouver Island, Arbutus Ridge, Edmonton,
and around the world. Our mother established the Janie and Hector
Wright Memorial Scholarship in honor of her parents. In lieu of
flowers, donations would be gratefully appreciated to this scholarship
(c/o University of British Columbia Development Office, Suite 500,
5950 University Blvd, Vancouver, B.C. V6T 1Z3), or to the Cowichan
District Hospital Foundation, No. 4 - 466 Trans Canada Highway,
Duncan, BC V9L 3R6. Mom truly lived by her favorite saying: "Yesterday
is history, Tomorrow a mystery, But today is a gift, and That is why
it is called 'the present'."
