Dear list members,

I am having great trouble finding out where my gg grandfather Benjamin Truman was born. I know that he was a bargeman and that he was born around 1814. He died, living in Limehouse in Stepney, London.

Does anyone have any records which might locate Benjamin or perhaps any listings of bargemen plying their trades up and down the River Lea from Hertford to the River Thames (at least, this is where I suspect he was working).
