All,
At one time Oldbury was entirely surrounded by canals and so there were lots
of wharves etc within the town. To get into the town from any direction you
had to cross over a canal. There is just one now, the Birmingham
Wolverhampton, which passes to the west side of the town, about 1/4 mile for
the centre.
