Subject: [CANAL-PEOPLE] Made it?

Hi everyone. I really hope this gets through to you.
My grandmother was Sarah Ann LYALLS born in 1886 "on a boat" at Kilnhurst, S.
Yorks. Her father George Lyalls was a waterman and her mother was Ann DUKES.
George and Ann had an older daughter, Clara Emily LYALLS born in 1883.
I cannot locate George or Ann on the 1881 census. Has anyone heard of these
people? Where do I go from here? I'd be so grateful for any help! I'm really
excited to find that some of my ancestors lived and worked on the canal
(Dearne and Dove)
I have had great difficulty sending messages to this site, but I enjoy all
the messages sent by others. I have the 1891 census of Wath-on-Dearne and
Wombwell and, if it is of onterest to anyone, I will post details of several
boat families who were here at that time.
Gail
