The only relevent Cawthorn(e) families I know of originated from Knottingley, Yorkshire - a photo and references are in "The Sailing Ships and Mariners of Knottingley" by Ron Gosney.

Some of this family went to the USA and have been researched by a descendent.

I will go through my copy of the book and see if there are any likely links - but there's no name index so it could take a while.
