Dear Stephen,

I would be grateful if you would check your records and see if you have
found any Cutts.

I am researching the Cutt(s) families of the East Midlands in depth and in
particular those who worked on the Canals. They were located in several
different places along the canals, including Manchester, Cromford, Whaley
Bridge and Nottingham, and some owned barges too.

I have found that John Thomas Cutts b.c.June 1868 at Wigan married a
Margaret Ellen Berry in 1894 at Adlington ( in 1901 at Chorley). He had a
brother Francis b.c. 1870 at Wigan and other siblings, Alfred, Alice, Mary
Elizabeth

Their father was Charles Cutts b.1839 at Bilborough, Notts. and Margaret
Grundly b.c.1848 at Wigan and they married c. 1867. I believe they were
coal dealers.

I would appreciate any information you might have on this or other related
families in the area.

I would also be interested if there are any Wheatcrofts in the area too as
they seemed to inter-marry several times..

With thanks in advance for any clues.

Regards,
Mavis, in Somerset.
