Dear Canal People,

Will someone please reply so I know my message has appeared?

I am looking for information about JONAS BEAVER whose son Joseph was born on 19th April 1848. On Joseph's birth cert. Jonas is listed as "Boatman" and lives in Chorley, Lancashire. I presume he worked the Liverpool Leeds Canal? Am I right?

Jonas married Nancy Fox.

On Joseph's marriage, he is listed as "Captain" but I guess this means of a narrowboat?

Can anybody please help me?
