The only Dicken in my folders is your James baptised at Stone 17th Sept 1837
parents Thomas & Mary Dicken of Burston - Boatman
If there were any other baptisms for this couple but did not give a canal
related occupation I would not have taken the entry down.

I have a William Nixon boatman, who always states he was born Stone Staffs,
c1830. After many years of searching I still have not found anything suitable
for him, when he marries he gives his father as William Nixon.

This is another boat family on hold.
