Hi,
I am looking for information on my Father's family.My Mom died when I was
5 and I was raised by my Maternal Grandmother.My Father was born around
1881 and married my Mother in 1912.He died in 1952.My Father was 52 when I
was born and died when I was 19 so I know very little about his family.The
information that I recieved from my Grandmother was that his parents came
directly to the Raeford,N.C. area from Scotland.His name was William
Christopher(Chris) Campbell and I do know he had a brother ,Scott Campbell
that lived in the Graham,N.C. area in 1953.I think he had another brother
but do not know his name.I saw him a couple of times.I also new his
sister,who never married,Alberta Campbell.She use to visit with me at my
Grandmother's for a week in the summer when I was a child.I went to her
funeral and it was held a little church on the Ft Bragg Reservation near
Raeford and that is where she was buried.He had a sister Rowena Dowling
who died before I was born .She had 2 daughters and a son that lived with
my mother and father after her death.Virginia Agnus ,Helen and Gene.Gene
died in St Pauls NC.Not sure of the date but posibly in the 1950's.My
parents lived in St Pauls,N.C. and my father was still living there when
he died.
I have tried to do some research on the internet ,but have not had any
luck.I am 67 and retired .I would appreciate any information you could
give me.I had a chance to attend the Scotish Festival an Dunedin,FL this
year.It was my first and I enjoyed very much .That is where I got your
name .
