I would guess between 1805 & 1815, when a lot of Scots were leaving North Carolina and heading south & west.

Patrick McEachin was affectionately known as Para Ban (Gaelic for Blonde/Fair-haired Pat). He and his brother John McEachin emigrated from Kintyre, Scotland to NC sometime before the Revolutionary War, settling in the part of Bladen Co. that became Robeson Co., on Drowning Creek close to where ShoeHeel Creek comes in on the Richmond (now Scotland) Co. side.

As far as I can tell, all the Scottish McEachins in the area are descended from John & Patrick, though there aren't many left, as most have moved away. Families their children intermarried w/ include the Fairleys, McNeills, McLeans (Gov. McLean's grandmother was a McEachin), McQueens, Graham, Lytch, Carmichael, and others (lots of McCallums, McKinnons, & McRimmons, along w/ some McInnises, McLeods, McNairs, & McRaes in collateral lines). They're the same McEachins mentioned in "Lumber River Scots" and "The MacQueens Of Queensdale".

I have a webpage on them at:

This has several family histories, and links to the John & Patrick's WorldConnect entries. Anyone with ties to the aforementioned families should take a look at my WorldConnect tree and drop me a line if you make a connection.
