I am new to this list and I am hopeful that someone can help me locate my William Cameron. The story in the family is (and it is a story although there might be some truth in it ) that William Cameron came to America from Scotland abt. 1745. He possibly had brothers, John, Ewen and Donald who came with him.

William Cameron settled near the Cape Fear River NC. It is told that he had 10 children, 5 girls and 5 boys, but I only have one known child, William Cameron, Jr., b. ? d. 1811 in Christian County, Kentucky. His widow Nancy,, later married William Randolph whose first wife was Ann Banks. I believe this family migrated to SC, then Kentucky. William Jr. had the following children. John, b. 1805, Jessie, Nancy, Margaret, Daniel, b. 1800 in SC and Mary.

I know this is not much information to go on, but would like to have any William Cameron, Cape Fear area, during the time frame of 1745-11795.
