The Blues did not come from Jura. My grandfather, William M. Blue
(1866-1937),
said in a diary he kept while touring Scotland in 1914 that they came from
Kentyre.
Of Course, he was refering to his own line, that of immigrants Duncan and
Margaret Campbell Blue who came over ca. 1767. "River Daniel" Blue who came over
in 1803
and who had three brothers to settle in upstate New York lived in a small
village at the head of Loch Scotnish in Knapdale. The Blues originated as a sept
of the McMiullans
in Knapdale.
