Hello Michael,

Thanks for answering. The Peter I was referring to was Peter
WILKINSON, Sr., b.abt.1764, married to Sara Ann McNAIR.
They DID have daughters named Catherine and Mary, but I
don't have one named Rebecca. Peter is said to have sold his
land in Robeson Co. in anticipation of moving to "Mississippi
Territory". Most of them ended up at Union Church, Jefferson
Co., MS; I don't have any records for any going to Marion Co.,
but I don't have complete data for all of them.

I am curious about your Catherine RUSSELL. My Peter died in
1860, and Sara Ann died in 1820. If Peter remarried, it is doubtful
that any children from the second marriage would have been
named RUSSELL. I am excited to hear of someone who has
other information on this family. Half siblings always indicate
that someone had more than one spouse, and that is always
valuable information.

When was your Catherine RUSSELL born? Peter's and Sara
Ann's last child, the 11th, was born in 1818, 2 years before
Sara Ann's death. People I have corresponded with about
the "deep south" WILKINSON's have usually hit dead ends.
It seems some of Peter's group may have dropped off in other
states, such as GA and AL, or maybe some of Peter's brothers
or cousins went with him, and those GA and AL WILKINSON's
are from the brothers.

ANY information you have I would love to have! If it is indeed
the same family we are researching, that would undoubtedly
be very valuable information.

May I ask you one thing? You said "contact me", and I hope
you meant here on the List. So many researchers reply back
to List posters and start private communications off the List.
I don't agree with that, since the way these Lists are supposed
to work is that everyone subscribed shares with everyone
else. Private communication cuts good information out of the
loop. I have found an unbelievable amount of needed data
in emails posted to various Lists, emails that were replies to
someone other than me, or emails about other families but
which happened to contain peripheral information about my
families.

Anxious to hear from you,
George W. Durman
