Hello Bob,
I have just posted a note entitled "Where in the world.....?" to the
group showing where various sources of information can be found.
Hopefully this list will expand and be a useful document soon. First
thing to say is that I think you'll find very little at second hand
book shops. I gather there are a few dealers with very large waiting
lists - and the books are expensive.
Anyway, I consult the 6 volumes of Caribbeana at the Society of
Genealogists in London (see my other posting for details), several
volumes have been microfilmed by LDS and it is also available at the
Commonwealth Library at Cambridge (very well worth a visit - lots
there including almanacks and directories- but wrap up warm - it is
one of the coldest places on earth! You'll need a readers ticket.
Phone Terry Barringer (female) on 01223 333198 and she'll advise you -
she's incredibly helpful).
I managed to get Ingram's very useful books through the inter-library
loan system. No problem, though I was only allowed one of the volumes
as a reference book.
Let me know if you would like further details.
Sally
