Dear Carol,

My sister in law is from St. Thomas and her maiden name is Penn. I
spoke to her mother and was told that it was long believed that the same
Penn who founded the Ivy League School willed money to his black
descendants in St. Thomas but that they never received any. When I
visited the islands I heard elders ask her mother if she received any
money yet. (Not in jest...but serious and concerned that she get what
was willed to her namesake on the islands) Do you know anything
about this? And where would one start to do the research?
