The last I heard from Vaughn, he was having problems getting *any* email out
to all of us, because his server had installed some new anti-SPAM software
that prevented him from sending the last update. He stood on his head,
prayed alot, and finally got it out piecemeal. (An extraordinary effort, I
might add!)

Why he doesn't answer personal email might be another problem. Let's not
think he's dead, yet, though! :)) It does seem unusual for him, though,
that he isn't even answering personal email. I haven't had a response,
either.

You are right that Vaughn was the only person on the internet for providing
any kind of information on the Caribbean for quite some time. It would be a
terrible loss to lose his website for any reason. I've considered trying to
make a similar list, but see no reason to duplicate or compete with his
efforts.

In the I-don't-even-want-to-think-about-it event that he is not longer able
to maintain the list, we'll have to figure out an alternative. For now, I'd
suggest that everyone register their surnames on the GenConnect Boards for
their islands of interest. That will, at least, keep a record of who's
researching where. Then, if Vaughn goes off-line, we can reconstruct a
current list from the GC Boards. If anyone needs an island GenConnect Board
that isn't now available, let me know...and I'll create one! The URL for
