Recently a couple of people have wanted to try and find out where their ancestors came from in the UK and I sent a general reply refering them to Cyndi's list for the Ships and Passengers lists - she gives the www addresses for several. There is also a gentleman called Malcolm who lives in the Shetlands and who has volunteered to do look ups. I have checked with him to ask if I can give his e-mail address to the list and he says the volume of requests is manageable at the moment so that is OK. Please don't circulate it to other lists so that he receives too many requests. Caribbean listees (?!) can contacted him at
