Dear Robin - What is also interesting is that Henry Cerf, supposedly Jewish,
married in the parish (Church of England) church - after all his children had
grown - if it is a Jamaican thing I am not aware. The rationale here escapes
me as perhaps it is better late than never! Marcus Deby's name could have
become more "anglicized" after leaving Belgium. That Maximilian Joseph is a
"nephew" still leaves the relationship or connection open between him and his
uncle Henry - with different last names we have unknown marriages to contend
with - probably taken place in Prussia. The connection to the German Royal
Family does not show the connection that I once thought due to the known
conflicting dates of birth, marriage and death - evidenced by the will of
Henry Cerf and LDS records. What remains, still, are the connections between
the Elliott, Cohen, Cerf and Lewis families as to their land ownership and
other business transactions - There is a common denominator here. And Maria
Cohen , daughter of Hymen Cohen and Zipporah Isaacs, married Maximilian
Joseph Wolff, September 19, 1821, in London. This is the same Hymen Cohen -
The forecloser along with brother Judah Cohen. To put this story all
together, I believe, would make a very interesting story - in the final
analysis. Regards - Richard - By the way, the LDS films might just add more
clues.
