Hi, all...
OK, the remark was made, rebutted, and sympathised. By continuing to add
flames and remarks we just add to the damage on the List.
From here on in may we just take as given that NOT posting agrees with the
rebuttal? That way we can get back to productive research and communications.
A couple of responses to the high prices of my own books were along the
same lines. Even without the outlandish costs in time, research and
acquiring material (the British Library charges US$6 _per_side_ for
photocopying, for instance), some people just assume that the economics of
producing 40 sets (320) of handmade large high quality hardcover books is
the same as 500,000 automated copies of a trashy paperback. I was even
asked to produce just one set in paperback on thin paper so it could be
carried around, thumbed through and then discarded.
So apologies to Patricia for the $4 cheapskate among us (shame!! shame!!),
and now the rest of us can get on with the real stuff.
Please?
Regards,
James C. "Jim" Lynch
