So sorry to hear about that! I don't mean to add insult to injury, but
thought this a good opportunity to remind everyone to backup your files on
floppies, zip disks, etc. Every time I add anything to my genealogy files,
I make a copy of it on a floppy. Also, if you were using Norton, didn't the
program periodically tell you to update your recovery disks? Basically,
recovery disks put everything that's on your computer onto one zip disk and
a floppy. If you lose your files, you pop in the disk and can run windows
from it. If you don't have a zip drive, you can get an external one and
hook it up to your computer. But whatever the method, it is important to
back up everything! Good thing you had most of your stuff printed out.
If there were any family members or other folks to whom you send gedcoms,
perhaps they can send you back copies and help you reconstruct it all. Best
