Subject: Visiting Antigua Archives and need advise

Dear Listers,
I am in the process of persuading one of my relatives to go with me to
Antigua. She is not particularly interested in genealogy so I will be
visiting the Antigua Archives alone .......heaven knows that I can't find
records any other way of this Island nor of Montserrat! What I need to know
is what time of the year would be the best to visit this island so that my
companion will be able to enjoy herself while I am searching through records?
She would be quite happy to sit in a sunny spot and read a book! I, on the
other hand, would be quite happy to find some records of these Islands that
would help me know more about our Wilkin ancestors!
Despite writing to the Antigua Archives, and giving an exact date of a
marriage that took place (and this was of a long time planter's daughter
there), I have received no reply......hence I can see no other way of getting
answers other than by visiting the Island.......not something that I would
normally chose to do (only from a financial point of view!) but I see no
other way!
So, if anyone could give me some advise to make this visit most pleasant for
my cousin then I would be so grateful.
With thanks.
Alannah
