Dear Heather and Listers
I have just found a further reference to PENS which I forgot I
I had received sometime ago.
If anyone has any knowledge re the below or access to the
1845 Almanac I would grateful for any further information.

I have also just discovered more FELSTEAD's in MIDDLESEX
COUNTY,MASSACHUSETTS
who MAY somehow be related to the FELSTEAD's from JAMAICA.

Quote -
1845 ALMANAC
RETURNS OF PROPRIETORS, PROPERTIES, AND LAND
IN THE DIFFERENT PARISHES,
FOR MARCH QUARTER, 1844.
(These returns describe only such Properties as consist of 10 Acres and
upwards, the smaller Settlements below 10 Acres being too numerous for
insertion, but the total number in each parish will be found at the end
of every Return.)

County of Middlesex
ST. CATHERINE......
The entry was as follows.......McWhinney, T., Felstead's pen, 16 acres
But oddly enough, I found the following for a different parish (St.
Andrew) and in the 1818 Almanac........Fry, Joseph, Felsted's Pen 16/ 2

The acreage and name are the same and the '2' is the number of slaves.
I just thought I would throw in a different spelling and see what I got.
Also got another Felsted Pen, but it was just 4 acres.
------------------
Another one for St. Catherine from the 1840 Almanac.........
Cuthbert, John, sen., Felsted pen, 16 (acres)

End Quote

Thank you for all your help.

Best Wishes
Edward
