I don't have personal interest in any of these names, but found these
details in my files

I have an article from the UK Society of Genealogists, published 1966.
called Material for Family Hsitory in Jamaica &it mentions the surname
DUQUESNE.

At the time of the American War of Independence, there was a moderate
influx of loyalists from the American colonies, especially Carolina. And
when the French Revolution set off a slave revolt in Haiti, many French
planters and their families found refuge in Jamaica. Eventually most of the
French moved away, to North America or back to Europe, but a few of their
