Hi all.
I'm on a hunt for anyone that knew my mother.
Her name was Hestel Hennis and she was born in Anguilla in 1935 the daughter of Isalene Hennis. (Brothers John Lake, Joseph Hennis)
She lived in St Kitts from the age of 14 and went to school there before taking up a post as a teacher in the school in Anguilla again.
She was known as "Teacher Estelle"
I think she taught in St Kitts and Antigua, but as she and her best friend have passed away I'm not so sure of the details.
I would like to hear from anyone who either knew her or was taught by her.
In particular I am trying to find out the names of the schools she taught in St Kitts.
Thank you.
Dorothea

HI List!
I'm still in shock, but If "Codfish" is out there please contact me - I've
found some of your cousins!!!!
Ceduna is a small town of 3500 people just a couple of hours east of the
Nullabor Plain, and quite frankly, is a long way from anywhere - especially
the Caribbean.
I've vaguely known these people for a while and always forgotten to check
(sorry) then the seaman son comes into the shop with his mother and she
proudly tells me he used to work on a luxury yacht in the Caribbean!
Needless to say it went from there. They are related to the two Codringtons
who were Governors of Barbados and the father is very interested in the
family history.
If someone is speaking to "Codfish" please pass this message.
Thanks a million
Anthea Lowe
Ceduna, South Australia
(We are apparently part of the world out here after all! <g> Think the far
north of Canada, turn it upside down, make it very dry and hot and that's
Ceduna - also soon to be home of the Solar Eclipse!)
