Ooops...

"EVERYONE here came from somewhere else...."

No, I am not lurking here in the shadows ready to pounce on anyone who
writes a sentence which may suggest that we sometimes overlook Canada's
aboriginal population. On the contrary, I have often been struck by the
sensitivity and generosity exhibited by so many of the members of this list
(particularly you, Dorothy).

I do not blame immigrants to Canada, like myself, for having to make a
special and sustained effort to learn about, and be conscious of, Canada's
aboriginal population. I find myself struggling to find sources of
information in the "mainstream", because Canadian-born people of European
descent seem to have so little connection to the aboriginal population.

Has anyone come across a source or site for those interested in Canadian
Aboriginal genealogy?

Thanks,
Joan Garcia
