I was thinking along the same lines and was a Commissioner of Oaths
myself (one step down from a Notary)........so I hit Google and found
several mentions of this designation. This one is from a website on a
lawfirm in Grenada......so you/we/I were right.....grin......
In Canada, all lawyers are a barrister, a solicitor and a notary public.
The Firm's Principal
Nicholas John, graduated with an LL.B (Hons.) from London School of
Economics and Political Science and in 1978 was called to the Bar as a
Barrister at Law of Lincoln's Inn. Mr. John was subsequently admitted in
1980 to the Bar in St. Lucia and in Trinidad & Tobago. Mr. John is a
member of the Offshore Institute and a **Notary Royal**.
Cheers.....Heather
