I have been speaking with a Christopher Warner, who has been tracking
(with me) the Warner line that was sent to the Caribbean in the
1600-1700s as part of the colonization "team".
Ashton Warner, Esq. was Attorney General and Speaker of the House of
Assembly in the Island of Antigua in the 1700s. His youngest daughter,
Elizabeth Warner (1725-66) was the first wife of Richard Ottley
(1730-75) who owned estates in Dominica, Saint Vincent and Tobago.
After Elizabeth's early death, he married Sarah Elizabeth, dau. of Sir
William Young, and later returned to England and was buried at age 45 in
co. Middlesex. With Elizabeth Warner he had 5 children, Drewry Ottley,
Esq. 1754-1805, [Pres. & Chief Justice of the Island of Saint Vincent],
Elizabeth who married her cousin Joseph Warner, a physician, Mary who
marr. Captain Cornelius Smelt, Gov. Isle of Man, and Alice who died
unmarried at Bath in 1843.
Drewry Ottley also had two wives, Elizabeth Jackson, and after she died,
Elizabeth Gray, and had several children.
Elizabeth Ottley Warner also had children--will have to send you their
pictures off list since I cannot send attachment on the list.
Do you have any connections with Christopher Warner? If not, maybe I
can connect you two.
Nevilla E. Ottley
Will talk with you later.
