Mark Shriver, the U.S.-based genetics researcher who consulted on BBC's
"Motherland: a genetic journey" --to west Africa-- mentioned 2 DNA
test firms to me: AncestrybyDNA.com, and African Ancestry.com.

AfricanAncestry.com is run by Dr. Rick Kittles of Washington, DC.

I understand he will offer testing from this month - March.
Website: www.africanancestry.com

The website of the other firm, AncestrybyDNA.com, has a number of
fascinating scientific research articles on DNA at this link:
www.ancestrybydna.com/articles.html, and also offers to identify
"African-European-Native American-Asian" ancestry.

Dr. Shriver and Dr. Kittles are colleagues based at different institutions.
At least several of the articles on this website include both of them, with
others, as authors/investigators.
