Dante,
Thank you, I turn-up from time to time, but I am always lurking:), As to
Alton, I can't get past Alton, Julien and Edna . Do you know who their
parents were?
Another question is, was Alton and Anton related, I think they were cousins?
As to my elusive grandparents, Caroline Quetel nee Benjamin of St. Johns/St.
Thomas, and Isidore Quetel of St. Barts/Alsace Lorraine, France, do not show
up in the 1917 census, there are pages missing from that census, so it is
possible they are listed on that page. My grandfather may have died that
year or the year before.
In 1930 my grandmother is not listed, so she might have died just prior to
the census. I found their marriage records in the Catholic records, but
there is a problem with dates, based on his age at the time of marriage, he
would have been 9 years older than his oldest child, I thank it was a
transposition of numbers.
Caroline was related to the family of Luther(Contractor), Mabel(Midwife) and
those downstreet Benjamin's, who all originated from the Coral Bay, St.
Johns, I think that Guy Benjamin, was a nephew or cousin of hers also.
So that is the skinny on my phantom grandparents.
I'll send you what I have on Adams.
Ann
