Thank you, Richard, for your reply message regarding the Frederick name.
Yours was the only reply I received about these names! I wish that I could
communicate directly with someone who lives on the Island as I know, from reading
various newspaper articles online from Montserrat, that there are several
people residing there that have surnames of which I have interests. I have written
to publishers of these newspapers but have had no reply. I have written to
the Montserrat Trust and asked if they knew of someone who resides on the
Island who might be able to help with contacts. I have suggested that perhaps a
student would like to have some extra spending money in exchange for helping me
locate certain people. Just being in touch with someone who actually lives
there (who could, for example, look in the phone book for addresses) would be
helpful. I have explained that I would not phone anyone but would like the
opportunity to write to people who might be able to further assist me. Also it
would just be interesting to 'talk' to someone about life in general in
Montserrat. Despite the volcano eruptions people are living normal lives there now.
Anyway, despite the years of searching, I am slowly receiving bits and pieces
of information and the Montserrat Trust and the Registrars office has been
helpful.
Wishing you and everyone on the Caribbean List a wonderful Christmas and let
us hope that we shall find some of those long lost ancestors in 2004!
