Subject: Woman's Relief Corps Question
Date: Sun, 11 Jun 2000 22:23:26 EDT

Hi Listers,
My Great-Aunt Mary Scheck Gershon died January 28, 1930 in Riverside CA.
In her obituary it reads in part "Woman's Relief Corps will have charge of
the service at the cemetery." This is written after the Reverends' names
that were officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Does anyone know what or who the "Woman's Relief Corps" was in 1930 in
Riverside? Maybe it was a group my Aunt belonged to or a social agency that
helped out poor families?

Please let me know if anyone has a clue or guess. Maybe old records
still exist somewhere. Thank you. This has been a most helpful list for me.
A very special thanks to Marybeth, Gail and Stella. :)
