Son of Abraham and Susannah Jackson Carley, b. 175?, Wilton, Fairfield, CT - m Hannah Covey, 12 Oct 1778 at (then) Frederickstown, Dutchess Co., NY. After the Rev War they can be found living in Ballstown along with a Peter Carley - the name is spelled originally in the 1790 Census Indesis as Kerby, now corrected to Kerley. Albert is noted in said Census as having 3 sons under the age of 16 and 3 daughters along with himself and Hannah. The sons thus far have been identified as Abraham, ? thought to be Cyrus, and George C(ovey). Daughters shown were Malissa, Hannah and Rhoda. There were 3 more sons born between 1790 and 1800 - William, John and James, and a daughter Adeline, who married Ezekiel Cady. The final child, daughter Samantha was born in 1803 and whose descendants still live in Camden, Oneida, NY. The family moved from Ballstown to the Palatine Bridge area and then into Camden, Oneida and Hector, Tompkins by 1820. The name "Cyrus" is attributed to this seco!
nd son through census records which place him in Clay, Onondaga, NY in 1830, which is a few miles east of his sister, Malissa Carley Scott in Constantia, Oswego, where his mother was living until moving to IL prior to her death in 1846. Cyrus is also shown in PA in 1840 and his family, not with him, is later shown in Iowa by 1850.
