Hello Graham
No I don't think the village hospital is still there - even Llanelli
hospital which used to be in Marble Hall Road is no longer there - the
hospital is now situated in Dafen - even with this being a new state of the
art hospital they are talking of taking away the emergency department to
save on costs...
Most of the listings in the chronology have now disappeared from the area.
Thinking of the North Dock area - Llanelli docks has been barraged off and
they are dredging out all of the mud, I think they are trying to make it
into a boating lake - a lot of money is being spent on this area ready for
the millenium and the coming Eisteddfod - I must say it does look a lot
better even though there is no industry here anymore.....
Does anyone on these pages know Llanelli at all?? If so, if you have not
been here for a while you will not know your way around - the place is full
of roundabouts, and new roadways, and new shopping centres!!
Glad you enjoyed the chronology - hope others did too.
regards
Pauline

I noticed on the THE PEOPLE and PLACES OF BURRY PORT : PEMBREY 1600 -
1900 VOLUME 1, there is listed " 1867 Village Hospital established".
Does it still exist?
( Great read - thanks Richard ).
Graham Howell.
