Hi Karen
I looked for the spellings Headon/Haydon but could only find the ones I gave
to you....there were a few Gabriel's there not Gabrel's - which Gabriels do
you require....
Upper Park Street is in Llanelli - the only instance I can find of
Bryncaerau is Bryncaerau Castle which is now Park Howard - donated to the
people of Llanelli as a gift from Sir Stafford and Lady Howard - this place
has been the subject of debate in the Llanelli newspapers of late because
Carmarthen Council wanted to turn it into a Registry Office - ripping up the
beautiful rose gardens and the Museum here would have been lost - BUT they
had to stand down after much outcry from us locals......
Have I given you the Chalinders from the earlier baptisms of Llanelli or are
these on the web pages......
Pauline

perhaps if I gave you a bit more info. ( about as much as I know about this
family!) it might help.
> Thomas Headon or possibly Haydon - born about 1829 Devon. Said to have
come to Swansea to help build the Cockett Tunnel and also said to have lost
both his legs in an accident in the tunnel. Married Eliza ( Elizabeth)
Gabrel. Children of this marriage:-
> Elizabeth b. 21.5.1851
> Sarah Jane b. 20.3.1854 High Street Swansea
> Hannah b. 15.1.1856
> Hennett b. 29.9.1859
> Mary Jane b. ?
> Caroline b. 12.5.1864.
> Sarah Jane married my great grandfather Joseph Anthony Chalinder In the
parish Church of Llanelli 11.5.1875. She was resident at Bryncaernaw(n)
Terrace . Would this be Swansea or Llanelli? Joseph was living Upper Park
Street.
> On her birth cert. her surname is "Haydon". On her marriage cert. it is
"Headon". "Headon" has passed down in the family as a middle name. However
the family appear to have been illiterate so it could have been spelt either
(or other) ways on censuses. Sarah signed her marriage cert, with a X.
> I believe I might have found Hannah in the 1881 census. I know her to
have married a Mr. Thomas!!!!!!. There is a Hannah J. Thomas age 24 b.
Swansea living in Llanrhidian Lower, Glam. Mary married someone by the name
of Gabriel and Caroline a Mr Trott and emigrated to America.
